    Zekelman Industries is searching for a Director of Construction for our Z Modular division in Troy, MI. This construction professional will have significant experience managing teams on multiple projects.   This position will be a key member of our team and will have the opportunity for substantial growth   

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • 15+ years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on managing all phases of construction projects
    • Help prepare estimates/budgets (conceptual, schematic, design development, construction).
    • Manage and oversee direct reports (project managers) with the ability to delegate responsibilities
    • Negotiate subcontractor agreements and other trades on project sites while keeping costs within budgets.
    • Assume responsibility for special projects as directed by management.
    • Coordinate with project managers, engineering, purchasing and production to ensure project is delivered on time and on budget.
    • Oversee the progress of projects once awarded to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Modular construction experience a plus, but not required.
    • Successful candidate will be not only technically competent, but will be also a key part of our sales process (eventually having the ability to develop and maintain major clients).
    • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time annually.

    Education and/or Experience:

    Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or fifteen or more years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

     Compensation:

    Compensation will be commensurate with experience, and will include a bonus plan and competitive benefits package.
