Job Description

 

Sharon Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a CNC Machinist for our facility located in Farrell, Pa.  Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this bargaining unit position is responsible for the operation of CNC machines as well as other machine shop tools in order to produce metal parts critical to the orderly operations of the facility.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate CNC machine(s) and other manual machine tools in a job shop environment to produce metal parts
  • Review and be able to utilize electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job
  • Machine within print tolerances
  • Determine material being machined
  • Select tools and materials for the job
  • Detect problems with assembly of parts
  • Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications
  • Modify parts in response to problems on the mills
  • Works alone with minimal supervision

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The ideal candidate for this position should possess a machinist degree and/or certificate from an accredited school
  • Have a minimum 3 years’ direct related verifiable work experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Detailed orientated, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and available to work rotating shifts including weekend and OT
  • Display a positive attitude towards your work and maintain positive working relationship with others
  • Mechanical aptitude necessary for fulfillment of job requirements
  • Must be able to interface with computers and efficient at problem solving
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite Applications
  • Ability to pass hair follicle drug/physical/background check
  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
  • Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several hours
  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
  • Must be able to lift 60lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours
  • Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment
  • Other physical requirements as needed for job
