POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Electrician will be involved with the installation, maintenance, and continual improvement of electrical equipment used in all aspects of automation, both electrical and electro-mechanical. The Industrial Electronics Technician is expected to work on every type of system from the simplest electrical systems using
fuses and motors, to the most complex electronic systems using sophisticated electronic computer interface boards, motor drives, programmable logic controllers, HMI’s, hydraulic and pneumatic positioners, solid-state devices, and robotics.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Troubleshoot electrical- and controls-related equipment downtime events and efficiently work to resume plant production.
• Create/Modify PLC programs to increase performance and reliability of plant equipment.
• Utilize electrical prints and ladder logic to troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to plan wiring layouts.
• Install conduit and wiring.
• Install, replace, and repair lighting fixtures, and electrical control and distribution equipment such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
• Install and connect fixtures and components to form circuits.
• Test completion of circuits using test equipment.
• Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty parts. Repair damaged, broken, or unsafe equipment.
• Connect electrical power to sound and visual communication equipment, signaling devices, and heating and cooling systems.
• Carry out Preventative and Predictive Maintenance
• Utilize and record work in CMMS (SAP) daily.
• Ability to work alone and with little guidance.
• Support other team positions utilizing a continuous improvement mindset to improve equipment uptime and effectiveness.
• Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with programming and troubleshooting PLCs. (Specifically: Allen Bradley ControlLogix, PLC-5, SLC500, MicroLogix, PanelView platforms, and Siemens SimaticS7)
• Knowledge of AC and DC Motors/Controls.
• Must have good mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
• Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several hours.
• Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours.
• Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment (hot, cold, humid, dirty).
• The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
• Other physical requirements as needed for job.
