ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
• Performs duties in accordance with company safety policies, ensure the safe and continuous operation of all machinery, and report unsafe conditions.
• Completes work assignments in a safe and timely manner to meet maximum production, change overs, quality, uptime, rate and yield.
• Monitors equipment to ensure Zinc levels, wiper positioning, air flow, skimming, induction heat and kettle temperatures are correct; Adjusts to standards as required.
• Maintains equipment in proper operating condition associated with (Hot Dip Galvanizing (HDG) requirements.
• Monitors and adjusts all equipment and temperatures from computer console.
• Communicates with coworkers, supervisors and/or managers to report material conditions that could result in production, quality, and/or safety issues.
• Updates MES system electronically to report all the downtime occurrences and reason codes.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Performs preventative maintenance on assigned mechanical systems.
• Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trade or technical school diploma preferred.
• 5 years of mechanical experience, metal rolling mill and induction heating systems a plus.
• Must have good mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Mathematical Skills: Must have good math skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply, use decimals and fractions.
• Reasoning Ability: Able to problem solve with ability to diagnose equipment and quality problems.
• Communication Skills: Able to communicate in English for written and verbal communication, including the ability to listen and speak effectively to understand and communicate the needs of customers and coworkers. Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills to look up work orders and interact with programs to obtain key work order requirements.
• Previous experience with measuring devices (tape measures, micrometers, calipers etc.) preferred.
• Must be prepared to work overtime and odd hours to accomplish the necessary tasks whenever an emergency that threatens production or safety arises.
• Able to operate and be crane certified
• Detail oriented with the ability to work independently.
• Positive attitude.
PHYSICIAL DEMANDS:
The information below outlines the aggregated physical demands of all positions within the Rochelle, IL Facility. All shop floor job positions and tasks were considered to determine and objectively quantify the physical and cognitive demands that each Rochelle teammate requires to successfully carry out their duties and responsibilities.
In addition to physical capabilities, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and required equipment that may require to be operated is also included. These factors should be considered when determining physical capabilities as well as cognitive competence.

Frequent: Reaching in all directions, pushing/pulling, neck flexion, elbow, forearm, wrist flex and rotation, fine motor dexterity skills, sitting, stair climbing, ladder climbing, bending, twisting, lifting floor to waist, lifting waist to shoulder, carrying, grasping, work above shoulders
Constant: Walking
PPE REQUIREMENTS:
The following personal protective equipment and clothing may be required to be worn continuously by some/all job positions
• Enhanced visitility work uniforms
• Various types of eye protection (Safety glasses, goggles, etc.)
• Head protection such as hard hats or climbing helmets.
• Fall arrest harness.
• Hearing protection (standard and/or custom ear plugs)
• Foot protection (Steel toed footwear that may include metatarsal protection)
• Respiratory protection (dust masks and/or respirators
• Welding helmet
• Welding attire
• Various types of face shields
MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT:
The following machinery and equipment may be required to be operated by teammates frequently - constantly.
• Various hand tools and/or power equipment in a manufacturing setting
• Overhead cranes
• Various types of forklifts, industrial trucks, and elevated work platforms
• Various types of heavy machinery
• Welding and Cutting Equipmen

Environmental Conditions: Hot/cold, oudoor/indoor, dry/humid, noise, vibration, moving objects, working at heights
