Structural Engineer

ZModular currently has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer in the Chandler AZ or Austin TX area. This position would report to the Director of Engineering. We are looking for someone who is highly detailed-oriented, thorough, and self-motivated. This position is responsible for the structural design for steel modular buildings and helping to develop design standards for all future buildings. You will be expected to solve design problems that have not been asked or solved before. You will work in the pre-design phase all the way through the fabrication and installation of modules. The experience will be challenging, yet rewarding as you shape the future of design and construction.

Responsibilities to include:

• Structural analysis and design of steel modular structures
• Steel connection design
• Creating design spreadsheets
• Structural code review
• Drafting structural plans and details
• Communicating with design teams
• Communication with site teams
• Visiting local sites weekly

Candidate Requirements:

• BS in Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering with structural concentration
• 5+ years of structural engineering design and analysis of steel structures
• Professional Engineer license with the ability to gain licensure in additional jurisdictions
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel (Knowledge of Revit is a plus)
• Proficiency in a structural analysis program: RISA-3D, ETAB, SAP2000, and/or similar programs
• Precise written and verbal communication skills
