Job Description

Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is actively seeking a dynamic Regional Sales Representative to join our team. Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager, this pivotal role involves promoting Atlas Tube products to existing customers, developing new customers, fostering customer relationships, and spearheading end-market product specifications in the Midwest territory.


We are seeking individuals who are not only proficient in traditional sales approaches but are also forward-thinking, ready to thrive in the evolving landscape of the steel and steel tubing market in 2024.



  • Proactively Drive Sales: Actively promote the organization's products and services, creating demand among Distributors, Fabricators, and OEM customers.
  • Identify Growth Opportunities: Recommend potential areas for growth, encompassing new products and markets, reflecting a keen awareness of the evolving industry landscape.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work closely with the Regional Sales Manager and Inside Sales Team to surpass territory sales goals and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Performance Evaluation: Assess territory performance against established benchmarks, taking strategic actions to enhance results in areas such as sales forecast, budget adherence, new account acquisition, and gross margins.
  • Build Strong Partnerships: Respond to unique customer requests to establish robust and collaborative relationships, contributing to long-term success.
  • Effective Communication: Provide accurate sales forecasts by customer and product, ensuring timely reporting of field activities and special reports that support business growth.
  • Customer Relationship Development: Utilize Customer Entertainment strategies to consistently strengthen relationships with customers, aligning with the evolving dynamics of the market.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations, legal standards, and company procedures.
  • Professional Representation: Project professionalism when representing the organization, both internally and externally.



  • Experience and Expertise: Minimum of 5-10 years of outside sales experience, with a strong background in the HSS products industry.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Personal Attributes: Articulate, energetic, personable, and a collaborative team player.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills to evaluate and enhance sales performance.
  • Travel Commitment: Extensive travel required, including weekly client visits and 6-12 nights of overnight travel per month, as necessary.
  • Geographic Requirements: Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate to one of the following regions:
    • Chicago Metro Area
    • Milwaukee Metro Area
    • Quad Cities Metro Area
