Hydro Beveling Operator

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Position requires the operation of the beveler. Tasks are performed in compliance with Zekelman safety policies, safe work practices and procedures as well as within OSHA safety guidelines. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Removes all debris from inside of product after beveling
• Visually inspects bevel for defects.
• Keeps accurate production records; Up/Down time reports.
• Assists "hydro team members" with grooving process as needed.
• Preventative maintenance to be performed as necessary.
• Maintains a clean work area at all times.
• Submits detailed and accurate work orders for any equipment issues as they occur which cannot be addressed by operator or team members. 
• Must have successfully completed OJT & JSA training.
• Ability to cross‐train others for the position and be cross‐trained elsewhere as needed.
• Complies with policies and OSHA guidelines affecting machine operations, such as; but not limited to: Lock Out ~ Tag Out. 
• Attends all scheduled company & safety meetings.
• Follows and enforces company safety policies and safe work practices at all times.
• Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with other employees and supervisors.

PHYSICAL & WORK REQUIREMENTS: 

• Personal Protective Equipment required in all positions.
• Use of other hand tools and equipment may also be required.
• Occasional overtime.
• Warehouse environment, uncontrolled climate year-round.
• Dusty and noisy work environment within OSHA guidelines.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND, COMPETENCIES & EXPERTISE: 

• Ability to read, interpret and use ruler, tape measure and other hand tools.
• Operation of equipment such as; but not limited to: ground operated equipment and machinery.
• Good verbal and written communication are a must.
• Self‐motivated.
