Job Description

 

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Sr Manager, Shared Services, this role is responsible for the assessment, design, development, implementation, testing, education, and management of assigned applications, primarily focused on Workday.  The Application Analyst is a technical resource for functional areas and must be able to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Acts as a liaison between customers, IT teams and vendors. Collaborates with functional and technical stakeholders at various levels.
  • Leads and participates in meetings with stakeholders.
  • Listens to end users and serves as an expert technical resource to address and resolve business problems.
  • Works with functional teams to inform and educate them on new process and/or enhancements and seeks input regarding future enhancements.
  • Seeks opportunities for continuing education, by attending seminars, conferences, webinars, and networking with peers.
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives and measurement. Support and Maintenance
  • Leads or participates in all phases of the software development lifecycle; identifies business needs, designs, builds, implements, documents and trains business solutions based on current and future technologies.
  • Ensures all Workday system functions optimally and ensures accurate, reliable, and timely compliance with business needs, strategies, internal/external policies and regulations.
  • Uses industry standard and innovative methodologies to effectively troubleshoot functional, performance, connectivity, integration, security or utilization issues.
  • Understands Workday specific functions, configurations, reporting, integrations and security.
  • Documents incidents, requests, projects, knowledge and change control IT and organizational procedures in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Writes and controls essential project documents such as requirements, project charters, functional specifications, designs, test plans.
  • Advises management of potential problems, status of current systems, and suggestions of requirements for improvements on an ongoing basis.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards to meet all regulatory requirements, as well as currently accepted legal standards.
  • Provides on-call support as required.
  • Leads or participates in project plan development and execution.
  • Provides team and management updates on project status and moves to make suggestions in timely manner to ensure projects are on time.
  • Leads or participates in review, assessment, design, development, testing, and training of new releases or new application implementations.
  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
  • Performs other duties as they might be assigned.
  • Regular and predictable, full-time, on-site attendance during scheduled hours.

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 year experience.

 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

  • Must be willing to complete Workday certifications such as HCM, FIN, SCM, security or integrations- within 6 months of hire date.
  • Experience implementing or supporting Workday.
  • Experience implementing or supporting Kronos or UKG.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables via helpdesk support calls, production tickets and small to medium enhancement work.
