Position Overview: As a Project Accountant / Senior Project Accountant at Z Modular, you will play a crucial role within our expanding finance team. Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data related to our construction projects and supporting various finance initiatives. This role offers high visibility within the organization, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Financial Analysis: Analyze the financial performance of construction projects, ensuring accuracy and timely recording of project costs.
• Monthly Reporting: Prepare and present monthly financial results for construction projects, comparing actuals to forecasts and prior periods.
• Anomaly Investigation: Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or anomalies identified in project financials.
• Forecasting and Budgeting: Develop and maintain project forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range financial plans.
• Process Improvement: Design and implement solutions to automate and enhance project accounting and financial reporting processes.
• Communication: Present analysis, findings, and recommendations to various stakeholders and management levels.
• Support Initiatives: Provide support for other finance initiatives as needed, contributing to cross-functional projects.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

General Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, modeling, and data manipulation.
• Industry Experience: Knowledge of accounting principles, with experience in construction or project accounting preferred.
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with construction management or accounting software is advantageous.
• ERP Systems: Familiarity with fully integrated ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, is a plus.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and presentation skills to effectively interact with teams across the organization.
• Attitude: Positive and adaptable mindset, aligning with the values of Z Modular and Zekelman Industries.

Knowledge / Skills / Competencies:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience in construction or project management is beneficial.
• Previous exposure to construction management or accounting software is advantageous.
• Familiarity with fully integrated ERP systems, particularly Microsoft D365, is desirable.
