Job Description

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, seeks a Mateline Superintendent. This person will oversee site-related activities and coordinate with the general contractor and site subcontractors. The Mateline Superintendent will report to the General Superintendent and Site Superintendent.  


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe, advise, and coordinate modular construction projects at a Z Modular production facility and follow the project to the site
  • Direct and oversee all modular site-related activities, source, qualify, and engage material vendors to deliver projects on time and under budget
  • Work closely with the project manager, production manager, and general contractor to ensure the project is completed to specifications and QA/QC standards
  • Provide feedback to the project manager regarding any changes, concerns, and updates throughout the project
  • Review the work progress and provide reports daily
  • Maintain completion schedules. Alter and expedite as needed to turn modules over as required.
  • Analyze and manage emerging problems to manage and mitigate risks
  • This position will require travel up to 85% of the time as required by projects
  • Driving is an essential function of the position
  • Other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 10+ years in commercial construction
  • Modular industry experience preferred
  • Possess extensive knowledge of construction codes and processes
  • Ability to properly manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills to demonstrate and convey a thorough understanding of the entire development process
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to communicate with clients, contractors, and plant personnel in a professional manner
  • Strong leadership and follow-up skills, with a “hands-on” approach to completing all projects promptly and efficiently
  • Team management experience - this position requires detailed know-how of finishes and the ability to delegate quick completion of interiors to punch out the team
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
  • Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs
  • Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours
  • Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing/construction environment
  • Other physical requirements as needed for the job
