Job Description

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Z Modular is at the forefront of revolutionizing multi-family construction through innovative modular projects. We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to ensure a safe and compliant construction environment. Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Safety Coordinator will assist with conducting site inspections to identify hazards, providing safety training, investigating incidents, and maintaining safety equipment. The Safety Coordinator will stay updated on regulations and collaborate with site personnel to foster a strong safety culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining comprehensive safety programs and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide safety orientation to new hires and other site personnel. Ensure ongoing training and awareness programs are conducted.
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses, document findings, and develop action plans to prevent recurrence. Prepare detailed incident reports for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Stay updated on OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards. Ensure the construction site complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are available, properly maintained, and used correctly on-site.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Regular travel between construction sites is required.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction safety or a similar role, with a proven track record in implementing safety programs and conducting site inspections.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, industry-specific safety protocols, and construction processes, including potential hazards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and engage diverse personnel effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in safety management software (e.g., EHS Insight).
  • Assertive, decisive, with strong leadership qualities and a commitment to promoting a safety culture and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
  • OSHA Certification (30-hour or 10-hour) and First Aid/CPR certification is preferred.
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role
