Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

 

Represents the organization externally interacting with prospective and established customers to assist selling the organization’s steel products and services. Organizes and maintains customer accounts. Collaborates with the sales and production teams to ensure product characteristics and delivery timelines meet customer requirements.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
  • Monitors client accounts and organizes and maintains customer records.
    • Uses Portal to enter orders, proofreads order entries for accuracy to eliminate product, price and freight errors, checks orders, and releases orders.
  • Obtains customer shipping releases and communicates with production and shipping teams to identify ready materials and assist with building loads.
  • Learns to review quotes and assists with the incoterms and pricing reviews.
  • Serves as an inbound phone back-up to Inside Sales Representatives.
  • May occasionally travel to customer locations to assist team members.
  • Performs other duties as they might be assigned.
  • Regular and predictable, full-time, on-site attendance during scheduled hours.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma; or Bachelor’s degree – preferably in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Logistics or similar relevant field
  • Some customer service / inside sales experience, preferably in steel industry

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

  • Basic knowledge of Wheatland Tube’s capabilities and internal requirements to maintain operating efficiencies – preferred.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, business systems and mobile platforms
  • Basic mathematical aptitude
  • Strong customer service skills and willingness to improve and take them to the next level
  • Good sales and verbal and written communication skills
  • Goal oriented, team player who prioritizes and completes multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Professional conflict resolution and problems solving skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal relations with hiring managers, technical and manufacturing personnel
