Job Description

Z Modular is seeking a skilled Structural Drafter with expertise in Revit to produce detailed drawings for a variety of projects. The Structural Drafter will work closely with architects and engineers, converting CAD drawings into Revit models and ensuring adherence to building codes and standards. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented, thorough, and self-motivated professional with strong organizational abilities and a commitment to quality and collaboration. 


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce structural design and construction documents using Revit.
  • Create shop drawings for steel fabrication and construction.
  • Develop plans, sections, elevations, and details for structural design and construction.
  • Generate detailed drawings for automated welding robots.
  • Understand building systems, codes, and construction methods.
  • Foster a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Work under the guidance of architects and engineers.
  • Convert CAD drawings/layouts into Revit models.
  • Generate schedules and bills of materials.
  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of experience in structural drafting.
  • Associate’s degree in Construction Technology, Drafting Technology, or CAD (preferred)
  • Any combination of relevant education and/or experience demonstrating proficiency in the essential functions of the role.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | COMPETENCIES

  • Familiarity with BIM drafting techniques, standards, and software
  • Understanding of construction detailing and common construction techniques
  • Knowledge of building systems, codes, and construction methods
  • Ability to quickly learn company-specific BIM standards and procedures
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Clear and precise written and verbal communication
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work will be conducted in an office environment with a controlled climate, involving standard office equipment and tasks, and requires a professional demeanor and effective communication with colleagues.
  • Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer, including repetitive hand and wrist movements.
  • Proficiency in handling office equipment and moving around the office.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Good visual acuity for reading screens and documents.
