Warehouse and Yard Specialist

Reporting to the Director of Logistics & Scheduling, the Warehouse & Yard Specialist will be responsible for overseeing activities in the yard and assisting in the warehouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Yard inspection to identify any deficiencies or concerns with stored modules
• Taping of modules as required
• Rework tracking related activities as required
• Update and maintain storage maps for visual identification
• Outbound shipping paperwork – retrieve BOLs and ensuring sign off by drivers, and provide instructions for any other required paperwork
• Ensure supplies are on hand and requisition from warehouse as required
• Storage Yards could be located at various locations (travel required)
• Operate forklift and other mobile equipment
• Physically receiving of all inbound materials (from plant and vendor)
• Assist in the warehouse picking and packing materials required for site
• Loading site materials and delivering materials to site
• Conduct weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory system is accurate at all times
• Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy. 
• Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  

EDUCATION | EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1+ years’ experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Aerial Work Platforms certificate and experience
• G Driver’s license
• 1+ years' experience working in a Yard environment
• 1+ years' experience in inventory management
• Eligible to work in Canada

KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | COMPETENCIES

• 3+ years of experience in a yard, warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Mobile Equipment experience
• Inventory management experience
• Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills
• Excellent understanding safety rules and a commitment to safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work will be conducted in a yard environment, involving exposure to machinery as well as varying weather conditions, Work may also take place in a warehouse with a controlled environment, involving exposure to machinery and noise.
• Travel between sites will be required
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests will be provided and must be worn on the production floor and construction site.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push or pull loads of up to 50 pounds; physical fitness and stamina are essential.
• Strong balance, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
• Ability to meet visual and auditory acuity requirements.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
