JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Raw Materials Purchasing is responsible for supporting multiple locations in strategically sourcing critical services to meet immediate needs as well as longer-term requirements. Responsibilities include fulfilling the Company’s needs regarding optimal strategic positions regarding quantity, quality, and time needed at the most favorable economic conditions for the Company, in accordance with established Company and Corporate Purchasing policies and procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Responsible for purchasing and managing all raw materials related to the manufacturing of pipe and tube for seven manufacturing facilities of the Wheatland Division. 
  • Partners closely with the current Executive Vice President of Strategic Sourcing to develop strategies pertaining to our raw materials spend.
  • Maintains sole responsibility for an annual spend of $700 M to $1 B across multiple commodities and raw materials. 
  • Executes monthly pricing negotiations to achieve an advantage over our competitors in the market.
  • Monitor on-time deliveries of all commodities to meet on-time facility production goals.
  • Utilize strategic mindset to anticipate and respond to ever changing market conditions and translate those decisions into bottom line results for the organization. 
  • Manage short and long term vendor and supplier contracts.
  • Develop trusted relationships across the business, including internal customers and suppliers.
  • Responsible for identifying and managing cost reduction
  • Monitors the market trends in steel, zinc, aluminum, natural gas, electricity, and plastics and hedge beneficial market positions when appropriate. 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Master’s degree preferred
  • Supplier and vendor contract negotiations
  • New product line development
  • Supply chain analysis and management
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP
  • SAP experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• • Knowledge of Shop Floor system
  • Knowledge of commodity purchasing (Steel, zinc, aluminum, natural gas, electricity, chemicals, etc.)
