Job Description

The Risk Management Senior Analyst will support Zekelman Industries' construction and insurance operations by collaborating with the Treasurer and Z-Modular team to manage GL and Builder’s Risk insurance processes, claims, and compliance. This hybrid role, based three days a week in-person at our Chicago corporate office, focuses on ensuring accurate policy administration, facilitating claims, and supporting renewal and audit processes.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Work collaboratively with the Treasurer and Z-Modular team to secure GL and Builder’s Risk insurance or extensions for all construction projects including applications and data required for submissions. 
  • Facilitate day-to-day activities including internal information requests for policies, insurance certificates and/or auto ID cards, coordination of claims/loss runs 
  • Review accuracy of all policies, changes/endorsements, audits, and other documents 
  • Verify premiums assessed compared to quotes and submit to the accounting/AP/treasury teams for payment processing  
  • Work with the Treasurer and brokers in the annual renewal process including preparation of all necessary applications, submissions, proposals and presentations 
  • Coordinate with broker and lender in providing the COIs needed for construction / post-construction lender compliance 
  • Assist with compiling necessary data for post policy audits. 
  • Work closely with brokerage and insurance partners to manage claims effectively and efficiently 
  • Communicate property loss mitigation recommendations with local management teams and determine appropriate responses to be shared with the broker and carriers. 
  • Request or amend existing insurance bonds as needed. 
  • Provide monthly claim reporting to internal accounting, legal and finance teams. 
  • Participate in captive reinsurance company management and governance if Company pursues such strategy. 
  • Special projects as assigned.

 

Education / Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field 
  • 2 years of minimum experience in insurance or risk management with a preference of 3-5 years.   
  • Experience with construction related GL and Builder’s Risk policies is a plus 
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills

 

Knowledge/Skills/Competency: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and productively during time sensitive situations  
  • Ability to communicate across multiple functions of the organization 
  • Ability to problem-solve and exercise independent judgement while displaying a high degree of initiative and desire to continuously learn and advance  
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment while also establishing work priorities and manage time effectively 
  • Ability to work at Zekelman HQ office in accordance with the location’s telecommuting policy 

 

This position's compensation range is $71,000 - $124,000 annually.
