JOB SUMMARY 

Under direct supervision, works in an industrial setting on the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment along with understanding  electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic tasks, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve electrical/mechanical issues.   

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy. 
• Checks engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools to fulfil preventive maintenance requirements. 
• Applies troubleshooting techniques of plant electrical systems and Programable Logic Controls,  motors, drives and relays.  
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. 
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. 
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts. 
• Attends educational workshops; reviews technical publications; establishes personal networks to maintain technical knowledge. 
• Communicates with the supervisors to build positive working relationship with others and to ensure efficient operations. 
• Leads and promotes health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy. 
• Performs other duties as they might be assigned.  
• Requires regular, fulltime,  predictable onsite attendance per scheduled shift assignment 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 

• High School or GED; Tech or Trade School in a related field preferred. 
• Must become certified for inhouse Crane,  Fork Truck operation, and other lift and/or mobile equipment 
• Some welding experience, experience in a manufacturing environment preferred 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES  

• Understanding of functionality of equipment and machinery within the plant by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions. 
• Mechanical and Electrical aptitude 
• Ability to stand for 10-12 hours  
• Ability to follow written/verbal instructions,  familiarity with Microsoft office applications 
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
