ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

Zekelman, is seeking a Lab Technician Intern at our Sharon Tube Division. The Lab Technician Intern position will assist and provide support to the Zekelman Industries Technical Team at the Farrell Pa Facility. The position is year-round and will continue through graduation. Candidates must reside within commuting distance to the facility. Work is scheduled around the candidate’s class schedule but will include weekend hours. Average weekly hours during the school semester will be approximately twenty-five with a potential of more hours during school breaks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mechanical testing of pipe/tubing samples
- Chemical testing of process tanks
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis
- Hardness analysis
- Computer data input
- Scanning of order backup

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Engineer Intern position will provide support. The intern will learn the essential duties of a process engineer and perform studies related to product and process improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primarily assist with analyzing prime net yield in an effort to maximize profitability
- Work closely with the Production, Quality and Finance Departments in identifying the root cause(s) for net yield loss at the facility
- Prepares excel documents for analysis
- Participates in evaluating data
- Special projects as assigned
- Measure process outputs and determine equipment capacity
- Maintain daily documentation of observations

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exposure to technical and commercial negotiations with equipment vendors
- Assist in overseeing the planning and schedule of project timelines
- Research of new manufacturing technology that would be useful to our facilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for new/existing projects, including working closely with integrators/contractors/vendors
- Assist with designs and engineering solutions for the projects assigned
- Work closely in identifying and resolving problems involving equipment at the facility
- Work with programming and troubleshooting PLCs and Robotics. Specifically: Allen Bradley; Siemens; and Fanuc

Sharon Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for our facilities located in Farrell, PA and Niles, OH. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Services, the QA Engineer will support all quality and technical services related activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work safely following workplace safety practices set forth by Zekelman Industries Inc. and OSHA.
- Drive the quality and operational objectives of the plant(s).
- Responsible for the timely processing of customer complaints including root cause analysis, material containments, and corrective actions. This can include direct contact with customers.
- Coordination of activities and tracking for any returned material.
- Tracking and reporting of Cost of Non-Quality, trend analysis and other quality reporting as directed.
- Conduct customer specification reviews to determine requirements and ensure controls are in place through development or verification of bill of materials and routing and floor instructions.
- Monitors and participates in management of change and corrective actions systems to ensure completion of actions items, resolution of issues and completion of projects.
- Assist with and/or lead APQP/PPAP Projects.
- Support the ISO 9001 and IATF-16949 Quality Management Systems including participation in or coordination of internal and/or external audits.
- Performs inspection and testing activities as directed in support of plant quality.
- Conducts product and process audits.
- Notifies operational personnel when product is out of tolerance and verifies quality after adjustment is made.
- Ensures that non-conforming products are identified, recorded, and properly tagged.
- Support operations as team member to define root cause and solve issues before they impact quality.
- Ability to move between both manufacturing facilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite.
- ISO9001:2015 and IATF16949:2016 Auditing Experience. IATF Lead Auditor/ Supplier auditor experience a plus.
- APQP/PPAP experience including creation and maintenance of control plans, process flows and FMEA’s
