POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Machine Operator II will set up and operate cutoff equipment to produce high-quality steel tubes at a precise length with a minimum amount of burr and/or scarf, and at the highest speed possible. This position will also review and provide quality assurance on the tubing before releasing to the end user. The Cutoff Operator will be responsible for making critical machine adjustment as needed to stay within close tolerances for ovality and straightness of all tubing produced. This position will also have oversite around the scrap rates with their department/mill.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fill in where needed.

• Measure/test characteristics within specifications and tolerances on the production order.
• Measure inside diameter gauge thickness, and outside diameter. Checks both ends with plug gauge.
• Adjust machine setups as necessary to cut evenly around the tube with no distortion on the ends.
• Perform preventive maintenance to the cutoff machine as well as the sizing section of the mill.
• Sufficient communication skills to learn from and train other operators and to interact with other teammembers to achieve an effective operation.
• Communicate with various departments to ensure smooth transitions from product completion to truck loading process.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Machine Operator will be classified as Machine Operator I, II, III based on experience and skill set. Machine Operators are trained in all areas of the facility based on business need, employee aptitude and interest.
Primary Responsibilities:

- Repacking and banding – repack tubing into bundles, pack, and / or band bundles according to customer requirements.
- Work directly with mill operator on set ups.

- Offload, hand stack, and package steel tubing manually.
- Move material into inventory storage, staging areas, and work areas.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Maintenance technicians will work independently or in conjunction with other technicians to perform maintenance tasks whether preventative, routine, or unpredicted. POSITION SUMMARY: Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeks Saw Operator, capable of learning multiple task job stations. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the Saw Operator will ensure his/her role in production is fulfilled with a commitment to the continual improvement in uptime, product quality, and overall mill performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Receive verbal and /or written instructions from team leader /mill manager
- Work from rolling schedules to ensure that proper size, gauge, and length material is being processed
- Perform quality checks on size, wall, length and flash removal to ensure that the mill is producing product that is within specification - provide feedback to mill operator
- Perform crush tests of weld to confirm weld integrity
- Check and adjust turkshead rolls as required to ensure that straightness tolerances are maintained
- Assist in the performance of mill change over; Set up traveling cutoff saw for each size
- Change saw blades and dies; adjust guide rolls as required
- Set up and operate diagraph printer
- Cut pull tests as for each new heat
- Fill out all operating reports and quality reports as required
- Clean slugs from saw house, under exit conveyor and in handling area
- Assist maintenance personnel in making repairs to equipment
