  Wheatland tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, seeks an Electrician/Controls Specialist for our facility based in Rochelle, IL.  Reporting to the Plant Manager, this Electrician/Controls Specialist will be responsible for improving designs of existing machinery and facilities under direction of the Plant Manager.  This individual will assist in the development, design and completion of capital projects; create methods and machinery for continuous improvement within the plant.  They will lead the strategic electrical projects for reliability, cost savings, quality, and safety in addition to maintaining plant software and backups for MES and PLC systems.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   - Monitor Plant systems, analyze performance, and initiate action for optimization to achieve Plant goals for safety, productivity, and cost effectiveness. - Study conditions at site and work with others as necessary to gather data and pertinent information for upcoming projects. - Perform custom PLC & Drive programming for Allen Bradley, SAF and Rexroth Components - Address safety issues in a timely fashion with regard to mill hazards, electrical issues and programming. - Assist with specification and integration of control devices such as PLCs, sensors, transmitters, transducers, relays, VFDs, operator interface devices etc. - Prepare bills of material, purchase requisitions, as built drawings and specifications to complete assignments to be approved by the Maintenance Manager. - Assist (lead as required) site employees and/or contractors during construction, verification, and start-up. - Review project related proposals, RFQ’s and bids from suppliers; and make recommendations to the Maintenance Manager. - Work with maintenance and operations to solve equipment problems. - Maintain, monitor, and improve production control equipment (PLC’s, Drives, etc.….) plant wide. - Manage records regarding all system software changes and communicate any changes to affected employees - Shift work as required. - Strong working knowledge of ESA Code - Preform other duties as assigned   REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:   - 309A – Construction Maintenance Electrician License - 5 years full time experience - Excellent interpersonal skills and written ability - Strong leadership and troubleshooting skills - Ability to work with AutoCad to create & modify drawings and strong ability to read prints - Strong computer skills - Strong PLC ability (Allen Bradly) and HMI experience (PanelView/Wonderware). - Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role - Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy

The Controls Engineer shall be well versed in the field of electrical theory and control systems. Wiring of machines and machining cells, debugging software, executing system shake downs/changes and making backups after testing are the major fields of application.    This person should be able to work in teams, as well as independently, report and track status as well as understand the mechanics and functionality of machining systems mostly in the automotive industry. Must have experience of Siemens control systems, PLC’s and Servo controls, and a good understanding of how other systems are integrated and controlled from PLC. Experience with programming robots and vision systems is an asset and the willingness to go the extra mile are key skills for this exciting and challenging role.    REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:  Mechatronics technician and or a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of experience or equivalent work experience in the field required. The Process Engineer will contribute to increased operational efficiency by acting as the liaison between various manufacturing departments, delivering facility and equipment design recommendations, and providing solutions for manufacturing that impact productivity, safety, quality, and cost. This position is responsible for the structural design for steel modular buildings and helping to develop design standards for all future buildings. You will be expected to solve design problems that have not been asked or solved before. You will work in the pre-design phase all the way through the fabrication and installation of modules. Z Modular is looking for a self-motivated Director of Engineering for our Troy, MI office.  This position will report to the Vice President of Engineering, Research & Development.  We are looking for someone who is highly detailed-oriented, thorough, analytical, and a good manager of people. The successful applicant will direct and supervise Engineers, perform technical design work, and provide oversight and coordination with other groups within the company. This position involves participation in project meetings and client meetings.  Some travel to plants and other offices will be required. As the Director of Engineering you will lead the structural design of steel modular buildings.  You will oversee the development of structural details to conform to our production standards.  You will develop standard operating procedures for the engineering department including the MEP design team. We are looking for someone who is highly detailed-oriented, thorough, and self-motivated. As a Drafter, you will use Revit to produce drawings for a variety of projects.
