This internship is designed to hire students who will be seeking positions upon graduation. This internship is designed to hire students who will be seeking Project Engineer positions upon graduation. Reporting to the VP of Field Services, assisting Project Engineers and Managers with communications and documentations of our modular units. Helping coordination of construction submittals and request for information documentation within the modular scope, as well as ensuring frequent progress communication with customers.    RESPONSIBILITIES: - Primarily function as data keeper of project specific tasks.   Z-Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Fire Safety Inspector for our facility located in Killeen, TX. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, this position work with Engineering to design fire suppression systems to make sure the buildings meet building codes set by the National Fire Protection Agency.   RESPONSIBILITES: - Analysis of fire hazards - Mitigation of fire damage by proper design, construction arrangement, and use of building materials, structures, industrial processes, and transportation systems - The design, installation, and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems and communication systems - Know the science behind what causes fires. Then, apply this knowledge to the safe design and construction of private and public buildings. In addition to helping to design buildings for safety, aid in the maintenance or inspection of fire prevention systems. - Examining building design plans - Perform hydraulic analysis of sprinkler and other fire safety systems   QUALIFICATIONS: - NICET Level III required plus NICET Level IV. - Proficient in water-based fire protection systems layout, involving the complete layout of sprinkler and standpipe systems, including hydraulic calculations, for a variety of applications, and which include management of water-based system layout projects and/or code compliance. - Minimum of 10 years of full-time involvement with layout of water-based systems, which must include management of multiple layout projects involving multiple work teams, coordination with installers, and responsible interactions with clients, engineers - Previous experience with post-fire investigation and analysis - Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role - Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy PHYSICAL ABILITIES: - Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.     Z-Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, seeks a Construction Manager for our location in Killeen, Texas. Reporting to the Production Manager, this person will supervise a multitude of direct reports. The CM will coordinate sections of the plant construction floor. These areas include and are not limited to framing, gypsum installation, steel cutting, texturing, ceramic installation, floor installation, MEP installation, and final finish areas of work.  This will then interact with shipping and storage as part of the overall focus. These areas could change as we execute our work from week to week and project to project.   Construction Managers determine the resources required for each aspect of the project, such as equipment or tooling needed, materials, and labor, assessing each of these for budget limitations. They make sure that the equipment and materials are acquired on time and check stock levels regularly to make sure anything that’s running low can be reordered.   RESPONSIBILITIES: - Construction Managers, plan, coordinate, and supervise the construction of commercial projects from start to finish. - Monitor the construction process to ensure the project is completed to schedule. - Assure supply needs are met at each delivery point on line - Assure off-line sequencing is handled in a timely and perfected manner. - Work full-time but may need to work additional hours to respond to delays, emergencies, or suppliers - 95% of time is on the construction plant floor, monitoring team members, work flow, and quality and speed of construction. - Organize team members to build and allocate responsibilities and tasks to them and other staff to ensure the project is completed efficiently. - Prepare detailed reports for key stakeholders that outline the successes as well as any issues that arose throughout the development of the building. - Work safely following workplace safety practices set forth by Z-Modular & OSHA - Review daily operating reports and report operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues and shift events to superiors to prevent operational delays - Troubleshoot operational and tooling problems to improve quality and efficiency - Build and maintain a positive team-oriented environment amongst production personnel - Discipline team members in coordination with plant management and Human Resources - Obtain and/or demonstrate immediate medical treatment for all injuries - Notify appropriate management and enter required events (accidents, injuries, incidents) into the safety database portal (EHS Insight).     Zekelman Industries, seeks a Safety Manager for our plant in Killeen, TX. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Health and Safety, this person is an assertive, decisive action-taker who provides leadership and support to the facility in the area of Occupational Health and Safety.  The Safety Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and direction of the facility’s Occupational Health and Safety Program and will continually strive to support the company’s goals to provide and safe and healthy workplace to all of its employees.   RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide leadership and coaching related to all safety and health matters to the facility’s management team with emphasis placed on front line supervision - Assertively manage post-incident matters including incident investigations, post incident action items, Worker’s Compensation claims and Early and Safe Return to Work initiatives. - Conduct various types of periodic inspections and audits of the facility, departments and specific equipment/positions in order to identify unsafe hazards and/or conditions - Make recommendations and facilitate the implementation of effective measures in accordance with the hierarchy of safeguarding controls and Company’s standards to eliminate or significantly reduce hazards to an acceptable level throughout the facility - Facilitate and attend monthly management Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, providing guidance and expertise on safety and health matters.  Ensure that all action items resulting from meetings are followed up on through to completion - Facilitate and attend monthly management Joint Health and Safety Committee plant audits, providing guidance, coaching and direction to JHSC members on relevant safety auditing fundamentals.  Ensure that all action items resulting from JHSC audits are followed up on through completion. - Develop and facilitate various training programs including, but not limited to, orientation, mobile equipment, crane, material handling, hazcom, as well as several others as required - Develop and regularly maintain comprehensive Job Safety Analysis for all positions throughout the facility - Maintain exceptionally detailed documentation pertaining to all safety and health matters including incident reports, risk assessments, Workers Compensation documentation, OSHA 300 logs and other documentation as required - Provide regular progress updates to the Director of Health and Safety through various methods including basecamp, Intelex, email reports, and other methods of communication - Provide assistance in safety related matters at all Zekelman facilities as required - Remains informed on new legislation and regulations and ensures compliance as required - Performs other duties as assigned.     QUALIFICATIONS: - Technical or Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 years of manufacturing safety experience - Workers Compensation Claim’s Management experience and knowledge of OSHA is important - Exceptional project management skills - Training program facilitation and management - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with all levels of employees  - Ability to maintain security and confidentiality of sensitive documents and personnel information - Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, Word and general technological savviness is required - Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role  - Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.   Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low cost, high quality medical and dental benefits.  In addition, we have an amazing tuition assistance program, a bonus plan, a 401(k) plan with a generous company match, immediate vesting and much more.
